Making popcorn at home takes mere moments and it is SO much better than store-bought!
Simple Kettle Corn
Equipment
- 1 large saucepan with lid
Ingredients
- ½ cup popcorn kernels
- 3 tbsps vegetable oil
- 3 tbsps butter
- 1 ½ tbsps sugar
- 2 tsp flaky salt
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes. Add the popcorn kernels and shake the pot to coat the kernels in the oil. You want an even layer of kernels across the bottom of your pan.
- Put the lid on the saucepan and allow the popcorn to cook, shaking the pan often. Continue shaking once the popcorn starts to pop, removing from heat after most of the kernels have popped. This will allow the remaining kernels to continue popping without burning the rest of the popcorn.
- Pour the popcorn into a large bowl. Add the melted butter, sugar, and flaky salt, and gently mix with a rubber spatula to evenly coat the popcorn. Enjoy!
