Sweet Spiced Mixed Nuts
Ingredients
- 2 cups pecans
- 1 cup cashews
- ½ cup almonds
- ½ cup walnuts
- 3½ tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ¾ tsp cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp ground cloves
- 1½ tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add all of the nuts to a large baking sheet and toss with 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Spread the nuts in a single layer and bake for about 10 minutes, until the nuts begin to smell toasty.
- While the nuts toast, combine the salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, ground cloves and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Place the hot nuts in a large bowl and pour the remaining melted butter over the nuts. Add the spices and toss well to coat. Return the nuts to the baking sheet and toast for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring the nuts once.
- Allow the nuts to cool completely before storing in an airtight container or packing into jars for gifting. The nuts can be stored for up to one week.
