Chunky, No-Sugar Honeycrisp Applesauce
Perfect for kiddos and adults alike!
Ingredients
- 6 honeycrisp apples
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 cup water, or more if needed
Instructions
- Peel the apples and cut into 1 inch pieces. Immediately squeeze juice from half of the lemon over the apple pieces to prevent browning.
- In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add the apples, cinnamon, the rest of the lemon juice, and 1/4 cup of water. Bring to a boil, stirring often, then cover and reduce the heat to medium, allowing the applesauce to cook.
- Once all of the liquid has evaporated, smash the large pieces of apple slightly using a fork or a masher, leaving the applesauce chunky. Stir and continue cooking
